A NEW RHYTHM

If you are working on a process of getting and being better in the areas of your life that are most important to you, it’s important to first make space in your current way of life. Adding on to your schedule is not a pathway to success. Replacing old way with new ways is the key. A new rhythm.

Studies show that a new habit takes a minimum of 21 days to be established. For those with addictions, it can take 10 times that number of days. If you are addicted to your current way of operating, it may have reached the point that it has moved from a habit into an addiction that is compulsively important to you. Whether a habit or addiction, we need to think about how to make your new goals and dreams succeed.

NEW DREAMS

New dreams start with an elimination of distractions. Starting right now, look around your space. What needs to happen?

Office:

  • Organization
  • Computer updates
  • To-do list that has been being put off

Home:

  • De-clutter
  • Organize
  • Recruit help to keep things clean and accomplished
  • Plan meals/ get healthy

Key Events:

  • Calendars marked and gifts planned for all special events by Jan 1
  • Special events planned for significant people in your life by Jan 1
  • Anniversaries for key employees planned and managed
  • Personal celebrations planned with a list of items for your personal celebrations

The lists above are not intended to be complete lists or to make you feel like you need to get everything done. They are just to make you start thinking.

Use this example to start your clean up process this week. Remember, this is the first step to accomplishing new goals and dreams. This should not be hard. This should be a freeing up of space and time.
